Lots of changes going on in the jar. The food that was once at the bottom is now everywhere along with webbing along the sides. I think chrysalides are coming overnight... Wednesday - day 7 It's getting messy in there. I think chrysalises are coming soon....look at this time lapse video below. The package came in the mail on Thursday, April 2, 2020 or DAY 1. Over the weekend the caterpillars grew A LOT! Check on the videos and see! The brown stuff at the bottom of the jar is the food that the caterpillars need to grow. We started our class butterfly experiment. Click on the images to see the caterpillars grow below. Well, the AZ governor called it today. No more classroom learning this year. WOW! What does that mean? Well, first it means I am going to miss my class like crazy! I honestly have a hard time wrapping my brain around what this Covid-19 virus is doing to the world. If it means keeping others safe, then staying away from school and others is what we need to do.
I am concerned about the class and them keeping up their skills during this time. Not only are parents having to become educators at home, but they also have to manage their own jobs and all the new stresses that life entails. I am sorry you are going through this. Please know my teacher heart is with you. You do not have to do this alone. Right now, there is so much noise out there about what others schools are doing and comparisons going on between districts. Please be kind and don't compare. We are prepared for this. We have already given you the curriculum for the rest of your child's 3rd grade year. It will change slightly as we adjust to this new way of learning. Keep emailing me your feedback. I will do my best to adjust. Because nothing is graded, please keep in mind that we are doing these assignments for several reasons:
I want to give all of the parents out there a pat on the back for doing a great job! Thank you for emailing me and keeping your child up to date with what is doing on . Thank you! We can do this together! |
